My Two-Month Journey

From Social Media Manager to Office All-Rounder

It’s been two months since I joined this office, and what a whirlwind it has been. My previous job was in a completely different company where things were pretty straightforward. A 9-hour shift with minimal pressure—just tasks to complete and a calm, easygoing environment.

I switched companies thinking this new role would be just as easy, but with a chance for growth. I joined as a Social Media Manager, which seemed like a perfect fit for me since I’m a student of media and communication. However, since this was a startup, I ended up taking on additional responsibilities.

Initially, I was okay with it. I saw it as an opportunity to learn something new—interacting with clients, handling documentation, hiring employees and students, and even managing various posts and quotes. But now, just two months in, it feels like I’m juggling multiple roles, including HR duties. I was hired for one thing, but now I’m handling a bit of everything.

Isn't it ironic how I always wanted to do something specific but end up doing something entirely different? While new experiences are enriching, the pressure can sometimes be overwhelming. I’m learning so much, but the stress can be a bit much to handle.

Yet, that’s life—navigating through different stages and adapting to new challenges. Each day is a new lesson, and I’m learning to manage the pressure while embracing the growth that comes with it.
