Scared of unknown.

Understanding Death

Death is one thing we all know will happen, yet it’s also one of the most frightening ideas we can think of. We live in a world where we experience many things, and we’re constantly searching for answers to the questions that pop up in our minds. But when it comes to death, there’s this giant question mark. It’s something we don’t fully understand, and that’s why it scares us. It’s the one certainty in life, and yet it’s a mystery we can’t touch, or see.

As humans, we’re naturally curious. We ask questions and try to make sense of everything around us. But death? That’s different. Death is the one thing that we can’t see, touch, or predict. We don’t know what happens when we die, and that unknown makes us afraid.

In our everyday lives, we have our senses to guide us. We can see, hear, touch, taste, and smell. But when it comes to death, none of these senses can help us understand it. We can’t experience it until it happens to us. And because we can’t experience it, it remains a mystery that we can’t control or fully understand. This is what makes it so terrifying. It’s like something always waiting for us, but it’s hidden from view, and we have no idea what it really is.

Humans live in three dimensions, forward, backward, left, and right. We can see all around us, but we can’t really see what’s behind us unless we turn around. Death is like that, it’s something that lies behind us, out of sight. We don’t know what it is until it’s too late to see it coming.

One of the hardest things to understand is why some people decide to take their own lives. Why do they feel that life is too difficult to handle, while death seems like an easier option? It’s heartbreaking, but it happens. Sometimes, the struggles in life feel too heavy to bear, and some people may think that death is the only way out. But the truth is, we don’t know what happens after death. It might be even more confusing, more painful, or more difficult than life itself.

We humans are full of assumptions. We think we can figure things out, we try to understand life, and we often want to prove to the world that we know something others don’t. But the reality is, we don’t fully understand life. So how can we possibly know what death is like?

Life is a mystery in itself, and it’s a mystery that most of us will never fully understand. If we can’t even answer the question of what life really is, how can we answer the question of what death truly is? It’s hard to think we can figure out something so unknown when we still struggle to understand what’s in front of us each day.

My mother always tells me something that sticks with me: “If you try to understand everything, you’ll go mad.” What she means is, not every question has to have an answer, and not every mystery is meant to be solved. Life is full of things we can’t explain, and death is one of those things. Sometimes, the more we try to understand it, the more confused and anxious we become.

It’s okay to not have all the answers. We don’t have to know everything. Life itself is full of questions that we may never fully answer, and that’s okay. If we try to figure out everything, we can become overwhelmed and stressed. We should learn to let go sometimes and accept that there are things beyond our understanding.

We can live in peace by accepting that not everything needs to be understood or figured out. Life doesn’t come with a clear answer, and neither does death. But that doesn’t mean we can’t make the most of what we have. We can enjoy the moments we’re given, appreciate the people we love, and let go of the pressure to have all the answers.
